baja california

caribbean coast

central highlands
Silver mines, fine colonial architecture, beautiful churches and lively fiestas - it's all here in Mexico's Central Highlands. This region has an excellent network of roads and there are several airports with direct international flights, so you can travel for a weekend break or plan a more comprehensive tour of several cities.

central pacific coast
The Costa Alegre, or "happy coast" encompasses the resort towns of Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo together with a host of beautiful palm-fringed bays. Just inland lies the colonial city of Colima and the majestic Sierra Madre del Sur range of mountains.

mexico city
Mexico City has a wealth of attractions for visitors, including world-class museums and incredible archaeological sites. Even a short stay can be very rewarding - just a half day walking tour around the Zocalo will encompass centuries of history as you visit the Cathedral, National Palace and the Aztec ruins of Templo Mayor.

southern mexico
This is a region of lush, tropical scenery, dramatic mountains and pretty coves. There's much to see here, including the beautiful colonial city of Oaxaca, the magnificent ruins of Palenque and the ancient Zapotec city of Monte Alban.

yucatan and campeche
This is the land of the Maya; a region rich in history and legend, with towering pyramids and delicately carved palaces hidden amidst the jungle. There are fascinating natural attractions here too, from impressive caverns to magnificent whale sharks and flamingos, beaches strewn with sea shells and petrified mangrove forests.
