In a nutshell:
Central location in the historic center of Guadalajara; walkable to many sights. Good for business or leisure travelers. Small swimming pool and restaurant.
It’s difficult to beat the location of the Hotel de Mendoza. Most of the city attractions are within easy walking distance of the hotel – the Degollado theater can be seen from the lobby, just across Avenida Hidalgo, and the Cathedral is just two short blocks away.
Walk one block from the hotel and you are on the main tourist route that runs from the Cathedral through the Plaza de la Liberacion and Plaza Tapatia all the way to the Instituto Cultural de Cabanas. Much of this route is pedestrianized and makes for a very pleasant city stroll.
The Hotel de Mendoza is ideal for tourists and business people who prefer a traditional, charming hotel in the city. The guest rooms are comfortable and spacious, and many have attractive views of the pool or the adjacent church Santa Maria de Gracia.
The hotel’s swimming pool is a welcome feature after a morning’s sightseeing; even in the cooler months it’s a pleasant place to sit in the sunshine. And best of all, the staff is friendly and helpful, making the Hotel de Mendoza a perfect choice for a short or long stay in Guadalajara.
Most people will choose the Hotel de Mendoza for its superb central location, but it’s also nice to find a hotel with a charming, traditional style in the heart of the city.
The Hotel de Mendoza’s guest rooms are all spacious and comfortable and include satellite TV, direct dial telephones and modern bathrooms equipped with hairdryers. Bottled water is provided in the room on arrival and extra bottles can be purchased for a small fee.
Many of the hotel rooms overlook the interior courtyard with the swimming pool, and are shielded from traffic noise. Some of the higher rooms also have a delightful view while others have a step-out balcony, or even a small terrace, with views of the courtyard.
